It’s a very rare thing that I actually wake up in a good mood. But this morning, can you actually believe it?, I woke up not only feeling rested but also motivated! These moments are so rare, I figured the only thing I could do was capture it here on the blog. I’m excited to make a grocery store run and then start baking/cooking. Shop a little. And maybe even score a table at the new Little Goat tonight with some friends!
Above are some pictures I took this week. I traveled to NYC and back in about 27 hours, spent Wednesday in an all day meeting (so the fur just had to happen…), took a walk around my new work area (awesome church, right?), and ate some pretty great food.
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you’re feeling just as motivated as I am!

Not too long ago, I traveled over to Williamsburg (with my mother + Eric) to visit the infamous Brooklyn Flea. Not surprisingly, I was really only interested in the food! Although I wasn’t really all that hungry, I ended up eating a chorizo taco and helping my mom finish up her very sour lemonade.
Also, I think I may be VERY far behind the times, but I just discovered People’s Pops (above picture). So good. Several locations all around NYC. Check them out!
Yes, I also ate a pop. Completely spoiled my dinner!

This $3 guy goes down as one of the tastiest tacos I’ve eaten in quite some time!

Even though I’m moving, I’m convinced I will love this city until the day I die…

This past Saturday, Eric and I headed deep into Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for New York’s first “The Great Googa Mooga” food festival. Despite the heat, long travel times, and EXTREMELY long lines for food, we did have a great time eating the food we were able to score (and drinking the wine we were able to drink!)!
I’m sure you guys (if you’re the least bit interested) may have already seen/heard the terrible reviews from this past weekend. People are mad, and I’m pretty sure NYC’s current rain storm captures the feelings of the festival’s organizers best.
So if you’re wondering why I put myself through all this, then I have answers for you!
My great friend, Katzie (aka, super-awesome-amazingly-successful pastry chef), had a stand where she made some of the best Dirt Cake I’ve ever eaten (see “dirt” pictures above). Eric and I are STILL talking about it!
Below are some of my favorite pictures from the day. Enjoy!

it pains me to watch tourists hail cabs….
loving my fresh flowers from a street vendor….I probably spent way too much time putting the arrangements together, but I must say they make me so very happy!
