inspiration: pretty things, fashion
Lately I’ve been dying to purchase pieces of clothing that reflect high glam and classic images. So, for this week’s inspiration post, I’ve gathered a collection of all the things I’d buy in a heartbeat (if I had unlimited funds!).
and my favorite:

perk of where I live: my morning walk lets me view both midtown’s AND the financial district’s beautiful architecture.

nyc photos: the plight of the tourist
this photo CRACKS me up. Seriously, this pales in comparison to the number of souvenirs I see on a daily basis.

2011 Summer Hot List
Guys……I’M SO EXCITED. Tomorrow, I’m heading out to Long Island “wine country” for an all day wine tasting!!!! I put this item on my hot list as a stretch, but I’m so thankful to my friend Serena for inviting Eric and me along!
more details to follow later in the actual hot list post.
But! In the meantime, all I can think about is what I want to...

NYC doctor offices are WEIRD. I don’t think the doctors can help it (due to the high operations costs), but still….THEY ARE WEIRD.

NYC Dining: Flex Mussels
This past Tuesday, I was able to sit down and enjoy a LOVELY birthday dinner with some of my best girlfriends. The birthday girl? None other than the ever-so-talented Katzie Guy-Hamilton (I hope you guys are watching her on Bravo!!!!!). The place? One of her favorites: Flex Mussels.
I won’t go into a ton of detail about the food, because this night really was more about celebrating...

inspiration: pretty things, DECOR
All this week, I’ve found myself taking breaks to scour the pretty images filtering through Tumblr and Twitter. The NY Fashion Week photos have been outstanding, but I’ve also been drawn to tons of decor, jewelry, and food photos.
So! Because I found myself saying, “ahh….so pretty” to almost everything I “liked,” I suddenly realized these pictures HAD...

city living: summer 2011
I can’t believe Summer 2011 is almost over!
And I fully acknowledge that I’ve done a TERRIBLE job of posting updates to my Summer 2011 Hot List, but I promise those are coming! (along with a Fall 2011 list….)
But all-in-all, this summer has been great. My time has been spent traveling for weddings and trips with family, working (we’ll get to that shortly), and just...

city living: memorial reflections
For the 10th Anniversary of the attacks on NYC, I spent the day with Eric and my parents; shopping, eating, and roaming the city streets. The city was eerily calm, quiet, empty, and you couldn’t walk the streets without thinking of all the emotions swirling around the city.
I see the new WTC tower construction every day. It’s already over 60 stories high, so you really...

Guys, I saw this show last night. And let me tell you:
It. Was. Amazing.
Since moving here, I’ve seen my fair share of shows (cause it’s what you do when people visit)….but this show has definitely moved to a favorite on my list.
I mean, the entire show was just SO GOOD. You know, I’m from the South…and I would equate this show to “sit down at your...

Inspiration: the September issue
It’s September, and NYC is buzzing with Fashion Week. Tonight is the ever-so-popular Fashion’s Night Out, which is the official kick-off night for a week full of runway shows, showrooms, after parties, etc. While I’ve see the glamorous side of Fashion Week, I’ve also seen the ugly (through the eyes of my old roommate…she modeled for a bit here in NYC). And with...

NYC Dining: The Harrison
After weeks of dining silence, Eric and I finally ventured out this past Saturday. The Harrison has been on Eric’s radar for quite some time, but due to a few sub-par reviews from friends, we’ve continually picked other places over it. But now that we’ve finally tried TH, I must say my opinion has shifted dramatically.
The Harrison, situated in the beautiful Tribeca area of...

how i've spent my weekend:
I woke up Saturday morning with the WORST back pain ever. I literally struggled walking….so, one bottle of advil and hours spent on a heating pad later, my weekend is pretty much over. Good thing I’ve had Lily, the US Open, and the internet to keep me company.
Obviously I SHOULD mention Eric, but he keeps ditching me to work on his business school applications….like...

inspiration: audrey
Sometimes you just need a little bit of old-school class injected into your day.
And when I think old-school class (or just classiness in general), one name springs to mind: Audrey.
So without further ado, inject away fellow readers:
and finally, no Audrey tribute is complete without the following:
Who comes to mind when you think old-school class? Or just class in general? Or...
