diary: new years eve plans!
RYE on NYE from Michael Kusman on Vimeo. After two straight years spent ringing in the new year in NYC, I’ve decided to mix it up a bit! After a week in Tennessee, I’m driving to Louisville, KY to celebrate one of my best friend’s restaurant opening.  I’m super, super, SUPER proud of MK, and I couldn’t be more excited to eat his food, drink some champagne and cheer...

diary: Weekend Plans
Happy Friday everyone! or as my friend Katie would say, “happy Christmas eve EVE!” I don’t have much on the docket this week except for, well, CHRISTMAS!!!, but I felt odd not writing my weekly “weekend plans” post.  I’m currently packing, but I’ve spent the majority of the morning running all over the city: doing some very last minute shopping, taking...

diary: merry christmas
Every year I receive TONS of Christmas cards, and this year has been no exception!  I knew I wanted to do a fun/cute card to send to friends and family, but getting everything together in time to mail just didn’t work out.  So, about two days ago, the idea to send out electronic cards popped into my head! (but don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE opening up my mailbox to find...

inspiration: merry little christmas
Christmas is in six days!!! and while I feel I could stop there and just let the inspiration pictures roll, I suppose I should say that I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas.  Please, everyone, travel safe and spend lots of time remembering the reason for the season. And, in the shortest inspiration post introduction EVER, let the pictures roll… I want this to be me… I...

diary: Weekend Plans
After last weekend’s crazy activity list, this weekend’s primary goal is REST.  I do have some fun things planned, but I’m hoping to stay pretty low-key otherwise.  Hopefully I can sleep in a ton and get back some much needed energy! On my list of things to do this weekend: Friday after work: cook dinner with Eric and then potentially see a movie (we’re thinking Martha Marcy May Marlene…the...

So, I’m really late on writing this post.  Several weeks late, actually. but since there’s no time like the present to type this baby out, here we go! To celebrate Eric submitting almost all of his business school applications + our dating relationship hitting the one year mark, Eric and I devised a plan to spend an entire day in Brooklyn.  We were going to start with Brooklyn...

TIM and TOM are no longer my friends.  and if you’re curious as to who these people are….let me introduce you: TIM (tourist in motion): a tourist that “hovers” in one specific area…not going forward, backwards, left, right, up or down.  Just hovering…. TOM (tourist on-the move): a tourist (or group of tourists) attempting to walk down the sidewalk.  This...

diary: Weekend Plans
This has been one crazy week!  Work has been a “tizzy” (as my grandmother would say), my mother has been visiting, and the weather has been yucky!  With everything finally slowing down as I head into the weekend, I’m suddenly very excited for all the activities I have planned!  Here’s my list: Department Store Holiday Window viewing…so stocked for this. ...

As we are now OFFICIALLY well into the Holiday season, nothing says Merry Christmas like visiting New York.  The store windows, the plays, the decorations, the shopping….CENTRAL PARK!!??!! It all just gets me way too excited for words… So, as I’m now approaching my third year in NYC, I feel I can now actually lend some wisdom to those of you who may be looking to fill your...

cab catching is a competitive sport. and while having “rules” may be slightly objective, new yorkers tend to play by the following: 1. moving up/down the sidewalk to strategically place oneself in front of other ppl needing cabs is 100% allowed. 2. if someone is walking to an open cab, be nice and please don’t take it….really, you NEVER know what type of reaction...

inspiration: likes, part 1
For the month of December, I’ve decided to utilize my Tumblr dashboard for my inspiration posts.  Typically, each inspiration post has a theme…but this month, you’ll get a rare glimpse into my mind!  You’ll get to see how erratic my brain moves…from food to decor to fashion…to sports! haha. Essentially, I’ll be using my Tumblr LIKES feature to post ten...

Three Bean Salad
With Fall in full swing, and the cold weather approaching, I’m finding that I’m craving veggies that I haven’t had since Summer.  So with that in mind (and also in an attempt to have quick, easy things to eat throughout the week), I’ve been whipping up quick and simple recipes all week.  Since there’s nothing like something really good that also doesn’t spoil...
