city insight #23
the holiday season really is a black tie affair for the city’s architecture. Lights, bows, and ribbons adorn some of the most iconic areas….it’s like walking through a Christmas party on your way home from work!

inspiration: southern comfort
With Thanksgiving DAYS away (eek!), my pangs to visit home are becoming greater by the hour. And although I pride myself in being a “healthy” NYC eater, I certainly love digressing into a Southern food monger the minute I step off the plane. SO! While most people are craving Thanksgiving dinner (and believe me, I am too!), I’m REALLY craving some great Southern...

City insight #22
I’m starting to learn that I will always be the girl who says, “I grew up with over 10 guns in my grandparents house.”
(And then I sit there and watch everyone gasp, look appalled, and then look in awe of me. Ha. I also really like to tell them the key to the gun safe was IN the safe…..that really excites some MAJOR reactions. Hehe))

First, how pumped did you get watching that video? Even for a “small” runner like myself, watching that video + watching the racers live last Sunday makes me feel so motivated to get up and be active. Anywho…

Central Park, 2010
This year’s early snow got me thinking back to my first NYC snow. I bundled up and headed out to snap a ton of photos. I’m Southern and consider snow “fun,” and some of my favorite NYC photos were captured on that day. (the above picture is one of my favorites!)

nyc photos: ING nyc marathon
I have to admit, I’m still recovering a bit from yesterday’s NYC marathon. I know that sounds silly (especially since my great friend Jess + Eric’s roommate actually ran it), but trekking around this city can be exhausting!
More on the day to come, but let’s just say….you should see the race at some point. It’s such an inspiring sight to see!

Weekend Plans
So, when I say this weekend is a marathon, not a sprint, I really mean it!
and you better believe I just made myself giggle.
I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for SOME time now. Up on the docket is:
1. Friday Night: BottleNotes Around the World in 80 Sips (I did this last year after just meeting Eric, and we had such a great time. We literally jumped at the opportunity...

inspiration: vintage jewelry
While visiting my family in TN last weekend, my grandmother mentioned that she should let me “play” in her jewelry collection.
Have I ever mentioned I’m obsessed with vintage jewelry? Well, here is me mentioning it!
Long story short, vintage jewelry is one of my favorite parts of “thrift” shopping. There are several places here in NYC that I frequent many...
